Laurence Poole was born in London in 1963. His studio is located in St. Leonards-on-Sea. He was educated at Croydon College of Art, Chelsea College of Art & Design, the University of Brighton and The California Sculpture Academy.
Laurence is a multi-media artist, working in sculpture, printing, ceramics, painting, drawing and collage. He is best known for his assemblage artworks, using everyday ‘found objects’ such as postage stamps, vinyl records, model cars and vintage cameras.
Bronze plays an increasingly significant role in Laurence’s oeuvre: at his studio he has constructed a foundry where he casts his own sculptures, utilising both the lost-wax and sandcasting methods.
