Artist Statement

I paint to express visually my understanding about my existence in this 21st century world and references to the past. My body of work examines society’s lusts and desires with fortune and fame and thus our insecurities. The paintings culminating in a symphony of controlled chaos, through the icons and subjects, brushstrokes, written word and materials used and how they are applied. I hope these will convey the message of our fragile existence, our uncertain future held together with hope. “Lighten our darkness we beseach thee oh lord”
Something innovative is being conceived right now as I write these words. Let those who see – see. A 21st century renaissance with collective, classical, intellectual dimensions. “The web” – of chaos and harmony, a new consciousness for us to develop possibly. It outlines the foundation for a 21st century perspective with direct links to classical and renaissance points of view.
